After dividing and collecting some plants this weekend...

I have a garden thats starting to look like a garden should and not just a collection of randoms sitting in a patch of dirt together!

This is my family dog, Teeka. She is really dumb and has been known to eat whole sweat socks, rocks and underwear (although so does the dryer, but thats a different story). A cone is a regular accessory, so Teeka won't lick her foot until its bloody. And now she has arthritis. But we love her and she still knows me, even though I'm away all the time. Oh and she barks a lot when I say goodbye to my parents - she knows that I'm away all the time, which makes her the sweetest puppy in the world!

I helped out a friend at her green house today. What a great place to be when there is still a chill in the air. Catching up with old friends and flowers...

Grand Marais for the weekend. My parents' woods is an old junk yard. Not in a trashy way...well ok, probably used to be trashy, but they didn't cause this problem. There are rusty old machines, cans, kitchens, I think there is even a car. (Don't worry, we always had tetnus shots as kids). Lately I've taken more pictures of the junk in their back-yard than the lake when I'm up there visiting. I just can't resist the rusted gems tucked away underground, with just a bit poking out or a barrel with a tree growing inside. This theme runs great in the northwoods - unexpected beauty. Of course there is beauty all around you, but I try to look for the surprising, because it is always unforgettable.

garden blog - I worked on expanding the part to the right and a new path down the center. Now I just need to get some flowers and pull out what I'm afraid are mostly ugly, sometimes flowering weeds. Brandon is a bit concerned about my posting frequency - he says I should rename the blog "bunchy" because I've started bunching all the photos together.

Caffeine is such a drug. I forgot my coffee today and tried to go without it - I'm like a different person. A druggie really - aches and pains, shaking, terribly gravely voice. So I indulged in the cherry coke for the afternoon and survived the day.

This guy was juggling today. He wasn't very good, but I think he was trying to impress the ladies. Which is fine, because I think there are a lot of single, older women out there looking for a juggler. Everyone needs a hobby, right? Hobbies that are also good for older single men...botany, boating, grocery shopping, volunteer segway tour guide, any kind of guide or story teller...
