Not an original concept, true, but I am venturing on this pursuit to examine my own world a bit closer. To capture the everyday that I walk through - keep it in my memory for more than a brief moment.craftyMSPhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08046487432622586322noreply@blogger.comBlogger136125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270195966684046984.post-70940451128536255922009-03-08T22:58:00.004-05:002009-03-08T23:08:48.279-05:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyPgg5R9x25Em4QMwJ1JVI3dZt81Yu99Uw9SSm3D5ayvgUqPaRUGythLWIzcCLX4ohcu3DQ2a9wnZodQepOcjx4mLR9rIgWZ3TI-EYVfstYeSKTcbTJNWQUsBI5dRgu3-A6kG31nBNuvA/s1600-h/march8+001.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyPgg5R9x25Em4QMwJ1JVI3dZt81Yu99Uw9SSm3D5ayvgUqPaRUGythLWIzcCLX4ohcu3DQ2a9wnZodQepOcjx4mLR9rIgWZ3TI-EYVfstYeSKTcbTJNWQUsBI5dRgu3-A6kG31nBNuvA/s320/march8+001.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311032797224107106" border="0" /></a>With the early day-light savings time, I'm motivated to end this blog and move on to the next fabulous project. Although I'm a bit early on the year end, I think its been a good one. I'll admit, these last few months were sparse on posts, but for much of the year, it was a success. I didn't start this blog to gain readers, but I hope the next one is more interesting to those who didn't raise me (or my husband). My new blog <a href="http://craftymsp.blogspot.com/">craftymsp.blogspot.com</a> will be my showcase of things I quilt, knit, embroider, etc and the inspiration for the handful of projects that are constantly swimming through my head. I hope you like it.craftyMSPhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08046487432622586322noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270195966684046984.post-17469114756693801132009-03-05T22:34:00.001-06:002009-03-05T22:39:48.578-06:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvoxkWRzdB7TR1CquNjbWyhW8tx86hiwNEUTwLiS6bSzLHyp0X2wca56rolEi7oKJxy1fz3JRlnprUIBWMCC0i5yYBG6EVORtd3qe7UKfIYID7Ugejmq61oIoOv2sdfc7i24l5znpyebs/s1600-h/march5.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvoxkWRzdB7TR1CquNjbWyhW8tx86hiwNEUTwLiS6bSzLHyp0X2wca56rolEi7oKJxy1fz3JRlnprUIBWMCC0i5yYBG6EVORtd3qe7UKfIYID7Ugejmq61oIoOv2sdfc7i24l5znpyebs/s320/march5.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309929563465962738" border="0" /></a>Ice house or Abandoned parking booth?craftyMSPhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08046487432622586322noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270195966684046984.post-35430539762983823072009-03-03T22:08:00.002-06:002009-03-03T22:16:24.176-06:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqjC7TjVNBj0yiDzRPGn167WrQ2BbXzAMeuihILsVrPaUmOW9ILPboJLEDC2a91xg0zSjB4MOlimovn8HvkYz5eQDGVu4PegQC3KgYz_mGY6A77HnY-xXZBVhxb5e9tZ3ebrQ5rySk_7o/s1600-h/march3.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqjC7TjVNBj0yiDzRPGn167WrQ2BbXzAMeuihILsVrPaUmOW9ILPboJLEDC2a91xg0zSjB4MOlimovn8HvkYz5eQDGVu4PegQC3KgYz_mGY6A77HnY-xXZBVhxb5e9tZ3ebrQ5rySk_7o/s320/march3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309179867420148098" border="0" /></a>Today I'm pretending it is summer. It was a blah day at work. So many things to think about these days - people's jobs, 401Ks, project prospects in the office (or lack there of), designer babies...So I was in a glum mood much of the day, but decided to turn it around.<br /><br />As I was walking home I pretended it was just a summery breeze, not freeze.<br /><br />I pretended I was running up to the farmers market to get veggies for the burgers instead of to the grocery store.<br /><br />I imagined my bare feet were standing on the deck while lighting the grill, instead of tucked warm inside my boots, standing in 6 inches of snow.<br /><br />Finally, I fantasized that I was running outside in fresh air instead of inside on a treadmill.<br /><br />So, after an evening of summer, I think I can go back outside in the cold...for now.craftyMSPhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08046487432622586322noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270195966684046984.post-37403659746646342492009-02-27T07:46:00.001-06:002009-02-27T07:46:46.814-06:00<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiA-WWcAdBKYMK-4an3fn122I_Vac_B3BxoIjD3aF1lNzQ9y3WKYKHzarphASpLEDebrE7XXbvFmlY_A23ohWIB37f1DRkXcCqaWaXmgb1nZdZKMngn70gugdCQAGVRsTbaEQyh-G3-Dw/s1600-h/snow+003.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5307473142839753554" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 222px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiA-WWcAdBKYMK-4an3fn122I_Vac_B3BxoIjD3aF1lNzQ9y3WKYKHzarphASpLEDebrE7XXbvFmlY_A23ohWIB37f1DRkXcCqaWaXmgb1nZdZKMngn70gugdCQAGVRsTbaEQyh-G3-Dw/s320/snow+003.jpg" border="0" /></a> Its hard to ride a bike in this kind of weather.<br /><div></div>craftyMSPhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08046487432622586322noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270195966684046984.post-56006305728086421972009-02-24T22:32:00.003-06:002009-02-24T22:38:55.358-06:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3Uic9MpnzOqVsqB4w8Du5bHGlRm9QSFWoyozIW6d0cJ0pzW2Q7jUI5sTcXYKAkzYgHCRVGzhnByfRiGaZQVrCr8PzI8oiZxxP28EW53zCj7lNdNSspRH0cQ-5aL1tjf1Miwx7pk6C5dE/s1600-h/baby+girl+003.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3Uic9MpnzOqVsqB4w8Du5bHGlRm9QSFWoyozIW6d0cJ0pzW2Q7jUI5sTcXYKAkzYgHCRVGzhnByfRiGaZQVrCr8PzI8oiZxxP28EW53zCj7lNdNSspRH0cQ-5aL1tjf1Miwx7pk6C5dE/s320/baby+girl+003.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5306588479336214818" border="0" /></a><br />I finished the quilting on this one tonight. Or at least get started on finishing...So, I went to the store(s) and got batting, thread, fabric and stuff for finishing three projects. This is the first one - a wall hanging that I started years ago. It is now pieced together and quilted, just need to do some finishing embroidery and put some buttons on it. Then I'll bind it and it will also be the first step in my overall big project of the year - decorating the house. This is going in our guest room - it matches a picture that I have from IKEA with vases of the same colors, so they will be the inspiration for the rest of the room.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkTlowV1wofWLJ8o9PF7VTDuaJZ4gBhPb4awo2xMKdMJ_LL2_e1VibWBE22I_t_UePBkPdod-x5NvOJw_wIaxdCDVzGVNw3TcDIj-8n1rApQqQx5vegtwdoOdkQsDFjXyePTZnJdK8RbY/s1600-h/jan16+002.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkTlowV1wofWLJ8o9PF7VTDuaJZ4gBhPb4awo2xMKdMJ_LL2_e1VibWBE22I_t_UePBkPdod-x5NvOJw_wIaxdCDVzGVNw3TcDIj-8n1rApQqQx5vegtwdoOdkQsDFjXyePTZnJdK8RbY/s320/jan16+002.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295813654602545282" border="0" /></a><br />The next project: baby girl quilt. This one is so cute, I'm going to have trouble giving it away. But it will go in the pile of quilts on hand, because that is what I made it for. I saved a square to be added to later...I love baby animals. Again - Thanks to Carol Ann for the great fabric. It is basted, just waiting to get quilted.<br /><br />Finally, I got fabric for the back of my "Madras" quilt. That's the crazy one made from Christmas fat quarters. I'm feeling really good about my progress on these three projects and I even started fabric organization with closet shelving.<br /><br />So this weekend was a great one - hope yours was good as well.craftyMSPhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08046487432622586322noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270195966684046984.post-15289083349473808632009-01-25T21:45:00.001-06:002009-01-25T21:46:42.175-06:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipnerGFtj9_VMkecK7X2Owo0nJasd2DJU4T4DR3i1gPGpioUXUqKflnOqImb8QD0-wgSHCHQAZKPWrXLtPHnhxFY7ZrV8Fp8YGTd8_em0w7ZVl_2LmopJ9dwLG-lmVQNz8pBOfpn4W9GE/s1600-h/jan25.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipnerGFtj9_VMkecK7X2Owo0nJasd2DJU4T4DR3i1gPGpioUXUqKflnOqImb8QD0-wgSHCHQAZKPWrXLtPHnhxFY7ZrV8Fp8YGTd8_em0w7ZVl_2LmopJ9dwLG-lmVQNz8pBOfpn4W9GE/s320/jan25.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295443601074377378" border="0" /></a>Hello sunbeam. So I downloaded their "Greatest Hits" and its still as good as I remember.<br /><img src="file:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/Marie/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot-2.jpg" alt="" /><img src="file:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/Marie/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot-5.jpg" alt="" />craftyMSPhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08046487432622586322noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270195966684046984.post-57318518622279574902009-01-16T21:57:00.007-06:002009-01-17T10:31:37.298-06:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAJYvTqBSq-9-0SMOQe6yJN_GkMBoCkcgg83-XTeGkEQcvFqFmeSUXIJgyJbEbtY5rJGEobjoEU5RsD6WD7jl_zODBr14I3F5rzNeB_UcDry6fl3H1IVCI7KhBZRIVJSv0AKUVPQPRV28/s1600-h/jan16.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAJYvTqBSq-9-0SMOQe6yJN_GkMBoCkcgg83-XTeGkEQcvFqFmeSUXIJgyJbEbtY5rJGEobjoEU5RsD6WD7jl_zODBr14I3F5rzNeB_UcDry6fl3H1IVCI7KhBZRIVJSv0AKUVPQPRV28/s320/jan16.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5292295957535228898" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Dear Mr. Police Officer:<br /><br />Thank you for breaking my streak of warnings.<br /><br />I guess one out of six isn't too bad. Especially one out of four within 5 blocks of each other.<br /><br />They say that things start to catch up to you as you age, and for me driving citations fall into that category. I must have looked more apologetic back then. Or found officers who were willing to hear my story (I can be persuasive). I'm not a speed maniac, nor a rule disobey-er; just pulled over for a missed turn signals, or speeding on the way to a funeral. Alas, tonight there was no warning, just a fine.<br /><br />At least my husband is understanding.craftyMSPhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08046487432622586322noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270195966684046984.post-8069357739226714312009-01-15T22:23:00.001-06:002009-01-15T22:25:38.594-06:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCIecfwEoEeONma2CapBXvmLkv20lpXLi_cQTs82blGlbQUErLYcrqr83x4Doh3Qwk3tu9swEb566P3XYAqvC2ontOhGoTDVXPYay8gzFNOtJCz8iQChyUJWsy4s1qumjSOPCd2FxNO-U/s1600-h/jan15.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCIecfwEoEeONma2CapBXvmLkv20lpXLi_cQTs82blGlbQUErLYcrqr83x4Doh3Qwk3tu9swEb566P3XYAqvC2ontOhGoTDVXPYay8gzFNOtJCz8iQChyUJWsy4s1qumjSOPCd2FxNO-U/s320/jan15.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5291742809196172690" border="0" /></a>This is what 20 degrees below zero plus windchill looks like...craftyMSPhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08046487432622586322noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270195966684046984.post-9592765926204386842009-01-02T22:38:00.002-06:002009-01-02T22:44:17.505-06:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPsfDbNmGusjDtdR15lLozSZV1VfZmIuj7n69zZ6jxhmlb1WoIPoJnB9OrvNACJA28yj3USzk6pwsBEi2vxuZmL-bf6sQCkdAGYWpvG0S2n6nUd54MHYTnnkGy8tpsevgMNL2KtpM9LiI/s1600-h/siesta2009+003.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPsfDbNmGusjDtdR15lLozSZV1VfZmIuj7n69zZ6jxhmlb1WoIPoJnB9OrvNACJA28yj3USzk6pwsBEi2vxuZmL-bf6sQCkdAGYWpvG0S2n6nUd54MHYTnnkGy8tpsevgMNL2KtpM9LiI/s320/siesta2009+003.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286922498904837410" border="0" /></a>A new year, a new quilt. I got a bunch of fabric for christmas and some of it was all color matching and ready to go. So I started a quilt yesterday and am really close to having the top done this weekend. (My sister is pretty sure I'm crazy). There is one problem...the fat quarters were either not quite fat enough or shrunk (a lot) in the wash, so I'm missing some squares. I have to run and find the missing fabric to fill in the holes...luckely the pattern is random, so I think i can just make up a couple of squares with the left-overs.craftyMSPhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08046487432622586322noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270195966684046984.post-45449553517358897932008-12-29T21:36:00.003-06:002008-12-29T21:42:28.045-06:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdoS11tBGSDVuNZRAw_86NqXWIygqvy17ZN1XqFKq-OTq48DS5X7QxQgWEnQNUnyYiQ9sLS6MpQG2EGfkUUwXFSppMc-QqgdrPYTET8o266dEJ6ggqAJZwdXEEjKh_EBMzIWlnseQxOLw/s1600-h/download122908+094.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdoS11tBGSDVuNZRAw_86NqXWIygqvy17ZN1XqFKq-OTq48DS5X7QxQgWEnQNUnyYiQ9sLS6MpQG2EGfkUUwXFSppMc-QqgdrPYTET8o266dEJ6ggqAJZwdXEEjKh_EBMzIWlnseQxOLw/s320/download122908+094.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5285422207033141730" border="0" /></a>Christmas has come and gone and now there is only 2 days left of the year. As we sort through the wonderful presents and reflect on the wonderful year, I am already starting to think of my projects for next year. One of them is organizing our house. I'm going to start from the top and work my way down, room by room until there is a bit more order to the chaos.<br /><br />Also new in 2009 is a different posting place. I started this blog 9 months ago, with the goal of recording memories with photos. Although I didn't get 365 photos, I did capture quite a bit. I am switching over to a new blog, with a new purpose soon...stay tuned.craftyMSPhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08046487432622586322noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270195966684046984.post-82096772603500982282008-12-21T22:09:00.002-06:002008-12-21T22:18:23.499-06:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg77H3Xts0o2JY4aA026H3_mfWg4DdZYG-1wOy5GZ_8yORH5J5RbANVLxiLOPQa1PlJKqodTTItpgNzAPCMG2blaMkE5g9PW03GsgJ_R7A8fCfPwWUmnweX3q8i9diEHb7tIHdxI64hPZQ/s1600-h/winter+fun.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg77H3Xts0o2JY4aA026H3_mfWg4DdZYG-1wOy5GZ_8yORH5J5RbANVLxiLOPQa1PlJKqodTTItpgNzAPCMG2blaMkE5g9PW03GsgJ_R7A8fCfPwWUmnweX3q8i9diEHb7tIHdxI64hPZQ/s320/winter+fun.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5282462201573458050" border="0" /></a>SNOW!! We got 7" on Saturday...blizzard like all day, so we hunkered down and took a snow day, but I had to get out and play. So I took my cross country skis and skied around the neighborhood! Perfect timing - people were lazy and not shoveling, so the sidewalks were still covered, and now it feels like 35 degrees below zero, so I'm definitely not going ski anywhere. Come to think of it, skiing to work would be great, because I would generate more warmth getting there and my nose wouldn't freeze at the bus stop. I'll let you know if that happens. I may need some more home made hot cocoa. mmmm.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjL7O5sXcwm-KiwC3WryzFMHnwoU2T7tjzA3rl9SoRpW3FaZOaC9uwQO0W4SwsufRU9ECnhPR8QR7ezmV_pXy-vWf8OnFHz6LZEoj2xbhATU3dazA2ynBtwXbqrFUPQt6jMHnSZomwJ4NA/s1600-h/winter+fun+002.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjL7O5sXcwm-KiwC3WryzFMHnwoU2T7tjzA3rl9SoRpW3FaZOaC9uwQO0W4SwsufRU9ECnhPR8QR7ezmV_pXy-vWf8OnFHz6LZEoj2xbhATU3dazA2ynBtwXbqrFUPQt6jMHnSZomwJ4NA/s320/winter+fun+002.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5282462109311667074" border="0" /></a>craftyMSPhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08046487432622586322noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270195966684046984.post-7278100761735269692008-12-18T23:43:00.002-06:002008-12-18T23:46:29.601-06:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB67edidvVLm6fLe_2OGdi81zmGYoEVTLIYj17PVn6YkVTuni4T5owXKGVi91rrsfgDCHTawK_elJa59nyzkM9yU_V3MAKPn3QqZZdRL9D8PblqIb43b-XVPEUu8xvRl4ZKRliuTYSnLQ/s1600-h/dec18+003.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB67edidvVLm6fLe_2OGdi81zmGYoEVTLIYj17PVn6YkVTuni4T5owXKGVi91rrsfgDCHTawK_elJa59nyzkM9yU_V3MAKPn3QqZZdRL9D8PblqIb43b-XVPEUu8xvRl4ZKRliuTYSnLQ/s320/dec18+003.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5281372965187092770" border="0" /></a>I've got about half the presents wrapped...and now I really miss our Christmas tree. I just read on Wikipedia today that the 12 days of Christmas actually occur AFTER the 25th, so my plan is a bit flawed, but I'm going to keep with the spirit. These are my Christmas doves, perched in their home on the "mantel". Right now, I'm watching the snow fall behind the twinkle lights. Its covering up the melted, frozen mess left behind from yesterday's high and today's plunging temps. I wish I had more time to ponder the pictures, but I guess its just another group of favorite things. While snow is one of my favorites, driving in it on a lonely road - not so much.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYT1YTCcmtLPLhMjzgylCcG7SjRORVDIdXveoITf3gbgfNS5yBsQNYpQZ2A3rdcjVFhCMwaFSXkyCyWaShm-HnsGlxnTkmxzISDpNh53LSfI5dU6tGnT6KBN17U7hqMHmG_a5vsMTHXGI/s1600-h/dec8+001.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYT1YTCcmtLPLhMjzgylCcG7SjRORVDIdXveoITf3gbgfNS5yBsQNYpQZ2A3rdcjVFhCMwaFSXkyCyWaShm-HnsGlxnTkmxzISDpNh53LSfI5dU6tGnT6KBN17U7hqMHmG_a5vsMTHXGI/s320/dec8+001.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277649488796348194" border="0" /></a>I love Christmas trees and all of our old ornaments (my mom has them cataloged, so if one goes missing or when we used to fight over who's were who's, we know).<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOaq9gIJD7mv3G7HpexGkLtn6SAvBfaWzl70sZAF4x8Km1KU2N8qy3o9noFGvwrvuv3HdIFGapwzwf-duLixa2O5rsXfnsFxz6krbgQ0FWeS_rDmjUeodybVihvWEkCmJSo7JZdFSFOfI/s1600-h/dec8+002.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOaq9gIJD7mv3G7HpexGkLtn6SAvBfaWzl70sZAF4x8Km1KU2N8qy3o9noFGvwrvuv3HdIFGapwzwf-duLixa2O5rsXfnsFxz6krbgQ0FWeS_rDmjUeodybVihvWEkCmJSo7JZdFSFOfI/s320/dec8+002.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277649313615550338" border="0" /></a>LOVE Grand Marais sunsets.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeDlqcv8eg5lLszcONF95QPO_4VJpEkLBDo4fJU1VQ89_wFiKXR9vrjZYTFpu1ay2AWluOK1nY5vh9IR38V0jX6Nw-mnco0dYl3XE7yN6Uh_2FbvIDraMuQp1-kBWc9zK-wz6bliMJVKo/s1600-h/dec8+003.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeDlqcv8eg5lLszcONF95QPO_4VJpEkLBDo4fJU1VQ89_wFiKXR9vrjZYTFpu1ay2AWluOK1nY5vh9IR38V0jX6Nw-mnco0dYl3XE7yN6Uh_2FbvIDraMuQp1-kBWc9zK-wz6bliMJVKo/s320/dec8+003.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277649091713709666" border="0" /></a>My parent's dog Teeka is definately one of my favorite things (pets).<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWdTKXPAmheTRaJkNTAagfYJ_EjnMl7yhv-Uoy4pgwmBgWlLyC1RnyII5VO3UHiwSl7pN458p3Y4W2l3GiSEP9uv3UTjlGDE7-iqNqUSEMO4tb3DRq_OQDudPZVjt46Qm8opNVgLLz7N0/s1600-h/dec8+004.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWdTKXPAmheTRaJkNTAagfYJ_EjnMl7yhv-Uoy4pgwmBgWlLyC1RnyII5VO3UHiwSl7pN458p3Y4W2l3GiSEP9uv3UTjlGDE7-iqNqUSEMO4tb3DRq_OQDudPZVjt46Qm8opNVgLLz7N0/s320/dec8+004.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277648916337181922" border="0" /></a>And finally, walking in the snow home from work is a favorite thing!<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh33iZx21eyXzlVlEoulCWbjSXQriBOvbhgpjgQPR3B_5Q3cN866EyuCp8zzHsSmOOvMOahrk0UVnEvpUShkMyWPppAub332b92tDUa8KUivadZ2xbjDQqvjWpHS67-fVOZcWGtbeuOuaI/s1600-h/dec8+005.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh33iZx21eyXzlVlEoulCWbjSXQriBOvbhgpjgQPR3B_5Q3cN866EyuCp8zzHsSmOOvMOahrk0UVnEvpUShkMyWPppAub332b92tDUa8KUivadZ2xbjDQqvjWpHS67-fVOZcWGtbeuOuaI/s320/dec8+005.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277648602776205218" border="0" /></a>craftyMSPhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08046487432622586322noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270195966684046984.post-18278591507240680342008-12-04T21:10:00.002-06:002008-12-04T21:14:58.439-06:00<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0n_0U8kEv4p2TEM2gjxun0e384WPNYQFqX8mDl9oFiVSRwavG9eq2wAxivM4ue1AuXIbpoy3jZcKOxc1ogsbUB_Vl_fWht7aA4ICtN7rxwkN48BVyqjHAsg23LW5nCm6qNpSjHUOC6to/s1600-h/dec4.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0n_0U8kEv4p2TEM2gjxun0e384WPNYQFqX8mDl9oFiVSRwavG9eq2wAxivM4ue1AuXIbpoy3jZcKOxc1ogsbUB_Vl_fWht7aA4ICtN7rxwkN48BVyqjHAsg23LW5nCm6qNpSjHUOC6to/s320/dec4.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5276138345790328770" border="0" /></a>Buttons. I'm going to do a few posts under the heading of my favorite things.<br /><br />While there are a lot of things on these shelves, the actual case is one of my favorite things. It was a goodwill find for $25 dollars during a time when that was a lot of money. It was covered in dark, slick varnish and had nasty paneling on the back. So I sent it home in a van to my parents house and refinished it over the summer I was living there. I stripped and sanded and stained it ORANGE. Then I restained for a custom blend. (I liked it so much - I tried to repeat the same "custom" job on our coffee table...) Then I put a new back on it, stained the same. I love the shape - its so 1940's with a curved front. Its been a bookshelf, an nightstand, and now is a buffet for the dining room.craftyMSPhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08046487432622586322noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270195966684046984.post-12520039819216131142008-12-02T21:31:00.005-06:002008-12-02T21:49:17.496-06:00Its a really BIG round-up of overdue posts today, due to the following activities that I was doing instead of blogging. Turkey, potatoes, stuffing, wine...food coma....a bit of shopping (nothing traditional - fabric and furniture, no crowds), and the holidazzle parade, riding the bus with the family and standing outside the ice bar. Pretty much sums up the holiday portion of the weekend.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixM1TIxApcYje3k6CPP0tYkM92vh21c_0psyftW7CY4oF6RaCdzlYoBLFYUxxExVerOd_1Z9TFHgDtGNc4SynSJP94eGoj3ghPJL28TyBHohq_31tmPR_xG0t6hkUayE3VwR9G5RVe08I/s1600-h/dec2+003.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixM1TIxApcYje3k6CPP0tYkM92vh21c_0psyftW7CY4oF6RaCdzlYoBLFYUxxExVerOd_1Z9TFHgDtGNc4SynSJP94eGoj3ghPJL28TyBHohq_31tmPR_xG0t6hkUayE3VwR9G5RVe08I/s320/dec2+003.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5275402149235238274" border="0" /></a>The rest of the weekend I decorated for Christmas (no tree this year - I just can't handle the needles, but plenty of cheer around the house). I also started some projects that are Christmas presents, so no posts yet...<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijisHYgVHGj7nGLoHpjMkCEgOhhsnhHVRayd9jnZ3jGvvLTeOyY0Mp-hrUnNNcPYfjD9HYNxX1BgR2DdseAu7YRryVxq_xHi4qtel9PkCJZ2Jz5tVTBQK0WIyhrAHaciFCm9Er1S2ySxA/s1600-h/dec2+008.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijisHYgVHGj7nGLoHpjMkCEgOhhsnhHVRayd9jnZ3jGvvLTeOyY0Mp-hrUnNNcPYfjD9HYNxX1BgR2DdseAu7YRryVxq_xHi4qtel9PkCJZ2Jz5tVTBQK0WIyhrAHaciFCm9Er1S2ySxA/s320/dec2+008.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5275402989972164066" border="0" /></a><br />Did you see the planets next to the moon yesterday eve? <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3042Q25Qrw5XDmB6Jm7RZ2WK6wJ2wkiSfxvDzNdy-3dhG2z5iIhccgdgdhZHgDRc2DU39UdS197tEE7LBBeFqyraRoNsb9nnWNO_TpSif5IByfSJjtUXO1rcGI2k5uiEgdsI-77fMXbw/s1600-h/dec2+004.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3042Q25Qrw5XDmB6Jm7RZ2WK6wJ2wkiSfxvDzNdy-3dhG2z5iIhccgdgdhZHgDRc2DU39UdS197tEE7LBBeFqyraRoNsb9nnWNO_TpSif5IByfSJjtUXO1rcGI2k5uiEgdsI-77fMXbw/s320/dec2+004.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5275402303259891858" border="0" /></a>I made this wall hanging to display holiday cards on.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnaFlZkOTritbWCeMjBGJ87tC5nj8Xa90zsuB02PW5klQ6YdHKxnrEdWAiP2rSUwR4UKFRhH4CJNgXL1KhWO40q4mNKKbBaLY3EMcGdmL9MeY88lUawecQxoBPWf_1yZ2jqzHMNVzTzmg/s1600-h/dec2+005.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnaFlZkOTritbWCeMjBGJ87tC5nj8Xa90zsuB02PW5klQ6YdHKxnrEdWAiP2rSUwR4UKFRhH4CJNgXL1KhWO40q4mNKKbBaLY3EMcGdmL9MeY88lUawecQxoBPWf_1yZ2jqzHMNVzTzmg/s320/dec2+005.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5275402515072210770" border="0" /></a>But most of my time in the last few days has been sucked into my newest read.
